Metals in the Holy Quran

Metals in the Holy Quran: May Allah bless our beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with countless miracles. One of them is the miracle of the Holy Qur’an and it is such a miracle that the testimony of its truthfulness, flawlessness and safety has been described by Allah in the Qur’an. Even what is described in it has been explained by Allah the Exalted in it. So it is said:

Translation of Kanzul Irfan: And We sent down to you this Qur’an, which is a clear explanation of everything

(P. 14, Al-Nahl: 89)

And in another place, in a part of the verse, God says:

Translation by Kanzul Irfan:: We have not left any lack of anything in this book.

(P. 7, Inaam: 38)

comprehensive book of all sciences

It is clear from these verses that the greatness of the Holy Quran is a book which is a comprehensive book of all sciences. It is in the blessed hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed about the coming trials, so the Companions inquired about avoiding these trials. He is also aware of the subsequent events and decisions between you.

(Jami-Tirmidhi, Kitab Fazail al-Qur’an, Hadith: 2951)

This is because this book is a comprehensive book of all sciences and whoever has got as much knowledge as he knows it.

Read Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi’s book (Description of Everything in the Qur’an) to know more about this.

Metals in the Holy Quran

There is a clear description of four metals in the Holy Quran.

  1. Iron,
  2. Copper,
  3. Gold,
  4. Silver.

Iron is a blessing that Allah Almighty sent down and placed innumerable benefits in it. It is said:

Translation of Kanzul Irfan:: And We sent down iron, it has a strong fighting (equipment) and benefits for the people. :

Translation of Kanzul Irfan:And We softened iron for him. (Surah 22, Saba: 10)

Allah’s Prophet Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) used to work with iron and used to live his life with it. Sahib Tafsir Sirat ul Jinan narrates a hadith with reference to Musnad al-Firdoos that it was narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar that the Holy Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Allah has sent down four blessed things from heaven to earth: iron, fire, Water, salt.

Since ancient times, iron has played a very important role in the construction and development of the world and even today, from simple needles to ships, railway engines, tracks, tools, construction machines, cranes, household and agricultural products, engineering and architecture. Accessories, armaments, tanks, armored cars, bombers, submarines, warships, atomic bombs and other items are also indebted to iron.

  • Copper: Copper is also the metal mentioned in the Holy Quran. It is said:

Translation of Kanzul Irfan:And We poured out for him a fountain of molten copper.

(P. 22, Saba: 12)

This miracle was granted to Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) by Allah, who softened the copper for him. Sahib Tafsir Sirat ul Jinan wrote regarding documents and Khazan:

The commentators say that the copper spring continued like water for three days in the land of Yemen, and there is a saying that that spring runs for three days in a month, and there is a separate one, as if iron was softened for Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him). Likewise, copper was softened for Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) and he used to make whatever he wanted to make from it.

Using a copper pot is also proven from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. .

(Bukhari, Kitab al-Wudhu, Hadith: 197)

Copper has been used since ancient times to make utensils and other items. Although in the modern era, plastic containers and other products made from chemicals have taken their place, but today copper still has its own identity, it is used to make various things, especially weapons and bullet shells, etc.

Benefits of drinking water in a copper vessel:

According to a research, there is a strong possibility of getting the following benefits from using a copper vessel, especially drinking water: improving the digestive system, weight loss, preventing skin irritation, protection from infections, heart diseases, blood Protection from pressure hazards, including faster wound healing. Gold and silver:

Gold and silver are also mentioned in the Holy Quran. It is said:

Translation of Kanzul Irfan:And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, give them the glad tidings of a painful chastisement.

(P. 10, Al-Tawbah: 34)

In another place, God says:

Translation of Kanzul Irfan:And they will be clothed with bracelets of silver.

(P. 29, Al-Dhar: 21)

Gold and silver are not only used for jewelry, utensils, etc., but it has many other benefits. Until the dollar was introduced for world trade, gold was used for trading. After that, instead of gold, the dollar made its place in world trade, but this does not mean that gold has no value anymore, but even today, if you look at the economy of any country, its gold reserves. It is seen and the currency of this country is also based on gold reserves. The more gold the country has, the more stable the country’s economy and money will be, even if a country has gold reserves.

If it is time to sell gold, then it will be considered that this country has become bankrupt. In this sense, gold has great value.

Iron, copper, and gold ornaments, rings, necklaces, chains, etc. are absolutely forbidden for men. While silver (four and a half mashes) one-piece rings are permitted. And it is permissible for women to wear artificial (copper, iron) jewellery.
